(More customer reviews)I recently installed this cold air intake on a 2004 F150(new body style) 5.4L and i am very pleased.I originally had the S&B CAI (Cold Air Intake) kit and it was not engineered correctly and it also made a bad "groaning" noise going down the highway and it was mounted very poorly in the engine compartment because of poor engineering.I was so sick of that groaning noise the S&B kit made,i took it off and threw it in the corner of the garage.Right away when opening the box of the Airaid setup,i could tell it was high quality.The way its mounted to the truck is definitely the best mounting ive seen yet on any CAI kit.Airaid uses 4 different spots under the hood to mount this unit which makes it strong unlike other CAI kits that just use 1 spot on the fenderwell to mount.You can also use your stock breather line on the engine without using some lame other hose that connects with hose clamps(like other kits) because Airaid furnishes a fitting in this kit that connects to the stock breather hose.Most other name brand CAI kits just give you a cut length of hose and some clamps to replace the stock breather hose.LAME!!This item is well engineered and the instructions are clear with photos.All components are very well made and strong.I figured this CAI would be loud going down the road just like all the other kits ive had,but it isnt!! Its very quiet until you really put your foot into it which i like.I have already noticed a 2.5 mpg gain and a quicker throttle response.There is no whistling noises or rattling with this kit.Its straight forward and fairly easy to assemble.I wish i would have bought this kit in the first place.If your looking at any other kit,you should really consider this one.I highly recommend it!! Heres a quick tip--if you are looking at the "Roush" CAI kit for your F150,the Airaid kit is identical(besides the logo on the tubing) and costs less,so dont waste the extra money paying for the Roush name.There is only one bad thing i wish Airaid would re-design on this kit.I wish they would have welded the nuts to the oval mounting plate that goes beneath air filter box because trying to put these nuts on the bolts that mount the airbox to the fenderwell is kind of a pain because of the lack of space to get your hand in there.However this is still an awesome kit.5 stars for Airaid!!
