(More customer reviews)I have a 99 VW Passat v6 gls.I needed to replace my air filter because it hasn't been replaced for a long time.I decided to go with the K & N air filter because you don't need to ever replace the filter just with regular cleaning after certain amount of time.I was able to do the replacement by myself without having to take it to a shop for installation.I find it pretty easy to do by myself.All you need are the tools you have from a set of mechanic tools.If you don't have the tool set you can just get them at the store.Just follow the instruction that came with the air filter box then it's pretty straight forward.
After I replaced the filter. I noticed the engine sounds better and more powerful.The overall performance definitely improves from my old filter.I feel the engine now sounds a bit like a turbo with a lot of air.I'm overall satisfied with the purchase however I haven't notice a lot of improvements from improving the gas mileage maybe only a bit.
