(More customer reviews)I applied this intake to my 2008 Pathfinder, with the 5.6L V8.
I wasn't real impressed with the directions, there were a few bolts and steps that were not in the instructions.If you've spent a decent amount of time under a hood, you'll have no problems figuring it out.My biggest let down was in the quality of some of the parts.The crank case breather tube attachments are made from PVC, and when I screwed one of them into the K&N airflow manifold, it broke off because, well, it was made of PVC and not something more reasonable.The other PVC piece I had to leave loose in fear of breaking it off as well.
The pictures also showed two adjustable clasps that were not included in the kit.They weren't 100% necessary, but I'll end up buying those myself at some point..if the breather hoses come loose, the oxygen sensor will cause problems with the diagnostics system.
Overall the kit looks good after installation.If the PVC hadn't broke, I would've been done in 30 minutes.I'll write later about performance and sound.. since this removes some of the stock baffling, it tends to be a bit more noisy than stock, but that's a plus for me.
I'm only taking one star off, because I made it work to expectations, and I've never had a problem with K&N before.I'd like to see better parts on the breather tubes.The instructions are good enough for someone with average expertise to complete.

This add-on is very... noisy.The mere sound of air induction under the hood can be surprisingly loud.Personally, I don't mind, it makes my 5.6L V8 sound like a race car.The air filter housing is open on the top, and there is no baffling in the intake tubing - which is the why this is so much louder than stock.The hood is meant to "seal" the top of the air filter housing, but the seal is not very good.The housing can be adjusted to close the gap, but this is not easy to manipulate.If you wanted to spend some time on it, you could cut the noise down to a minimal level.I was considering exhaust, but now I have no desire to get those aggressive deep tones when I already get them from the engine compartment.During normal acceleration, the noise is nearly non-existent.
